Bart Schilling - AG Management

Bart Schilling

Bart Schilling grew up on his family’s Iowa farm, a typical Midwest operation that grew corn and soybeans while raising cattle, hogs, and chickens.  This upbringing instilled in him invaluable life lessons that are common to those raised on farms or ranches. He later attended Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a minor in finance in 1992.

After graduation, Bart began a career in banking.  His love for agriculture, combined with his upbringing, led him to specialize in agricultural lending. Over the next 23 years, he worked with several banks in Lubbock, Texas, serving a broad range of clients within the agricultural sector. These include row crop farms, ranches, feedyards, dairies, stocker cattle operations, as well as grain elevators and gins, manufacturing & processing plants, seed companies, and cotton merchandising firms.

In 2017, Bart transitioned out of the banking industry to establish his own consulting and insurance company, enabling him to work more directly with agricultural producers. His goal was and is to help them strengthen their businesses’ financial health. Since founding the company, he has assisted over a dozen livestock and farming operations with budgeting, recordkeeping, resource management, balance sheet restructuring, and insurance solutions.

Alongside his consulting work, Bart owns and operates a small farm and cattle operation.  The operation serves as a testing ground for new or innovative practices.  This allows him to apply practical, real-world solutions that can be shared with clients.

Bart is married to Laura, a dedicated geriatric social worker. They have four grown children—Bryce, Brady, Brandt, and Brooke—and three grandchildren.
